Who Am I?

My name is Katie Campbell.
I'm 32 years old, and live in Vancouver WA.

I'm no stranger to hard work: I've washed cars, worked retail, served in restaurants, tended bar until the wee hours of the morning, worked in Real Estate, and worn out several pairs of shoes walking sometimes 17 miles a day taking care of animals.

Now I'm working for our community. I couldn't imagine a more fulfilling line of work for me. When I wake up, I know I will get to enrich the lives of many animals, as well as make life a little easier for fellow humans.

I'm gearing up to do some gardening with my family in 2021.  I'm looking forward to learning from my parents, two long-time gardeners, as well as being able to share some delicious tomatoes with friends, family, and clients.

I have two dogs:
An 11 and a half year old Akita, named Annabell, "Mama-Bear". She's been with me since she was about 10 weeks old. Now she's about a 100lb pooch with a sweet and silly disposition.  She is slowing down, but that doesn't stop her from living her fullest life. She still wants to play, is able to trot after balls,
and dreams about the days when she used to help me teach puppies proper dog etiquette.
&
A 9 year old mixed breed (
Chihuahua & Pit bull?) named Bean. She came into my life through my husband. We co-own her, and she splits time between two loving homes. Bean was rescued at about 1 year old; She spent her first year on the streets of California. Since finding her forever family, she's been able to thrive. We understand her triggers, and make a conscious effort to provide her with a safe place. She loves to cuddle and give kisses. When she feels comfortable enough to play with other dogs, she is fast and gentle.
One of my favorite activities is to howl with her.

My husband, Michael, and I have been together for five years. We have been married since June 2018. Since meeting him, we've both learned and grown so much. We support and encourage one another. One goal we're pursuing is to open and run a dog-boarding facility adjacent to a future home.

I enjoy living as simple a life as possible. And for me, working with animals is key to that.
